I started partying in high school, right through 4 years at Harvard, through successful stints in management consulting and Wall Street, some tech startups, and now running a small business.

I typically have two 10-oz martinis every evening and I often wake up in the middle of the night for another.

I exercise daily and eat well, and my blood tests last month were all good.

However, my skin is clammy and my hands are shaky by noon, my blood pressure is higher than it should be, I have almost daily diarrhea, my skin looks awful, my memory is lapsing, and my mental acuity is slipping.

I'm getting too old for this crap and I'd love to get to the point where I can enjoy a glass of wine every week or two and not lose it.

I quit about 10 years ago with the assistance of CBT and medications (initially trazodone, ondansetron, and librium along with a year on naltrexone and campral). But after a few years, I gradually resumed alcohol use, and now here we are.

Wish me luck!
