I came here to make a change, a new start, a clean slate as they say.  I found that my internal voice is getting stronger, against the the other voices of compromise.  I have been here before.  I know that the urge to drink will return and when it comes it will be like a sledge hammer, not a whisper.

What I am learning, the years of chemically training my brain for reward will take time.  No miracle cure. However this process here on Monument gives me hope and support treating alcoholism today, in new ways with tools and medicines.  It is said;  when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.  Let the lessons continue.
